“i told you, i’m not playing the pocky game with you.” you pinch the bridge of your nose with a grumble.

“eh, why not?” nagumo leans forward from his position on the couch, inching closer to where you sit on the edge. “come on, it’d be fun!”

“first of all, you’re crashing at my place uninvited and eating all my snacks. secondly, you should be doing this with someone who’s interested,” you point out before going back to what you were doing.

there’s a short moment of silence before he replies, “i’m interested enough for the both of us.”

you falter, staring at him with uncertainty. the eyes that greet you seem endless in its void, dark and unrelenting as that small tilt of his head remains. you immediately break the eye contact, halfway lost and drowning in the abyss.

“that’s not what i–“ you shake your head slightly, huffing out a soft sigh. “nevermind. this is childish.” you had half the mind to give him a piece of your thoughts, but then again how did you want it to mean anyway?

deep down you already knew the answer to that, though you decide it’s best not to put the words out for him to pick on.

you let the silence roots into place before nagumo breaks it again. “you’re right, it’s childish.”

your gaze instantly bounces back to his in mild surprise, initially expecting him to give you a quirky remark. you silently watch as his dark overgrown hair sways with the wind, that obnoxious printed shirt he’s wearing gently blowing from the spring breeze flowing in from the opened windows.

nagumo lightly tosses aside the pocky box onto the coffee table and turns to you with a smile. “i don’t really need a pocky to get a kiss from you, now do i?”

your eyes widen, “huh..? w-wait–“

nagumo yoichi is an opportunist, if anything. there’s a tint of red creeping up your cheeks, your lips quivering as you try to reason with him– with yourself. you’re barely pushing him away when he leans in close, and he’s barely holding himself back when his lips make contact with yours.

your grip on his shirt tightens, and he presses himself onto you harder. your mind blanks, and his is overflowed with only the thoughts of you.

everything else disperses away, for the only thing he can think about right now is how much sweeter your lips are compared to any pocky he’d ever tasted.
